We are proud to have won 3 medals at the 2017 Frankenmuth World Expo of Beer. Our Lyon Pride Strong Bitter took silver in the British Bitter category. Our Bellingham Saison took Gold in the Belgian Strong Ale category and the Goldhaven Stout took a silver in the British Dark category. Watch for these to rotate back on tap!!
We'll be up in Frankenmuth again this year for this global event. Whereas this is the only judged beer competition in Michigan for commercial breweries, it gives us a chance to compete on an international scale as brewers from around the nation and the world are invited.
The beer judging is on April 29th and the actual tasting for the pubic is May 19/20.
Visit www.worldexpoofbeer.com for ticket information.

The judging for the 2016 World Expo of Beer was on Saturday April 30th. Our Lyon Pride Strong Bitter took 3rd place in the English Pale Ale category. We would like to congratulate Sam Adams for taking 1st place with their Session Ale. Also, congrats to Witch's Hat for taking 2nd place with their Easy Extra Special Bitter.
As this event is approaching, Brewed in Michigan has created a poll. Vote for us and get us in!
254 Third Monk Brewing Company glass growlers arrived yesterday with excellent Poly-seal caps. You will definitely notice a difference with these and they should help keep your beer fresher longer. Cost will be a flat $8 for the growler vessel. Prices will vary for beer to fill them with.
We will be participating in the World Expo of Beer in Frankenmuth in May. This is the only beer judging competition in Michigan, so we are proud to be offering up 6 beers for that. We will be taking the Lyon Pride English Bitter, the John Porter (Robust Porter), The Saint Belgian Tripel, the Rood Donker Belgian Dubbel, the Full Kilt Scottish Ale and the Wet Weasel American Pale Wheat beer with us. Wish us luck!
We've all had a creamy pint of Guinness on tap, right? Some claim Guinness in Ireland is way better than Guinness served here in the U.S. There are two parts to that magic, the gas used, which is Nitrogen and also the Guinness-style tap. We've picked up a few Guinness-style taps for the English ales we are serving now and the difference is dramatic. Creamy and smooth, even without the Nitrogen (which is said to produce smaller bubbles in carbonation), we still get a substantially smoother, softer beer as the CO2 bubbles are broken up by the mesh filters in theses new taps. Our English Bitter, the Lyon Pride is amazing served this way. The John Porter and the Goldhaven Stout both see substantial benefits too. Stop in soon to enjoy them!
